Views + Gliders: Hike to Poo Poo Point in Issaquah
Looking for an active date with big views and a little sweat? Hike to Poo Poo Point via the Chirico Trail, one of the most scenic short hikes near Seattle. Just off Issaquah-Hobart Road, the trail climbs steadily through lush forest, rocky steps, and peaceful switchbacks before opening to incredible views.
At 1.6 miles in, you'll reach a popular paragliding launch pad, often buzzing with color. Hike a bit farther to Poo Poo Point for sweeping views of Mount Rainier, Lake Sammamish, and the Eastside skyline. It’s a perfect spot to rest, share snacks, and take it all in. The roundtrip route is under 4 miles with about 1,700 feet of elevation gain—plan for 2 to 3.5 hours depending on pace. Dogs are welcome on leash and parking is free, though it fills fast on weekends.
After your hike, refuel in downtown Issaquah with brunch at Great American Diner & Bar, tacos and margaritas at El 42 Cantina, or comfort food and cocktails at Levitate Gastropub.
